22MM Aquamatic 2Tone Bracelet

The custom bracelet is made with 316L Stainless Steel with gold ion-plating and features all solid links and endpieces, for unrivaled dependability on any adventure. Special half-links on either side of the clasp allow for more precise sizing. (** Please note that this bracelet uses high-end, twin-screw links, instead of pressure-fit pins, so removing a link requires two watchmaking screwdrivers, one on each end.) Ion plating is a hazard-free sophisticated coating technology. Surface coatings formed by ion plating have excellent adhesion and great coverage, with little to no porosity.

I still have my original Aquamatic 2Tone,must be 10 or 12 years old now. Still runs and looks great….
And it has St Moritz on the dial…

    Jonathan Doreck:

I have the original Aquamatic 2Tone with the Swiss Movement. This one had the mineral glass is I’m not mistaken. I recently received my Aquamatic 3 from a local dive shop. The Aquamatic 3 is much larger than my old St. Moritz watch. However I’m not at all satisfied by the movement. The movement is much more chunky than the Swiss Movement. I’m really disappointed they switched to a Japanese Movement. They say the are identical, they absolutely are not. I think they switched to the Japanese Movement because the prices of the Swiss Movement went up. However, I would have gladly paid extra to obtain the Swiss Movement. This, I think was a bad move on their part to save money in design. Don’t get me wrong, the watch is nice however the movement is what ruins it for me. Also getting this watch sized is a pain, not every jeweler is able to size it. I ended having to go to an Omega and a Patek Philippe dealer, apparently they have screws on both sides of the band. Wish Momentum would mention this.

    • Simon Pennell:

Hi Jonathan. Thanks for your comments on the new Aquamatic III. We are sorry to hear that you find the movement more chunky, and wanted to respond to your concerns. Our decision to make the new Aquamatic III with a Japanese-made movement was driven by price: Had we used the Swiss Made alternate movement, the retail price of the watch would have had to be approximately double the current retail price…. but we did not make this change lightly. We tested the NH35 movement very carefully and have to say that the quality results were nothing short of fantastic, with terrific reliability and no defects. The movement is a little “chunkier” (5.32mm thick vs. 4.6mm thick for the Swiss 2824-2 calibre), but the Japanese movement now includes hacking and a manual wind option, just like the Swiss movement.) In a thicker, stronger dive-watch case, rated to 300M/1000FT, we felt that the thickness difference of only 0.72mm was not significant. The new model also features an enhanced sapphire crystal, an enhanced steel bracelet with half-links on either side of the clasp of more accurate sizing, improved luminous on the dial, etc.. We strongly believe that it compares very favorably with the original Aquamatic with the Swiss Movement. Customer response has also been overwhelmingly positive, with each of the recent productions selling out very quickly. All that said, we know that some customers simply prefer Swiss movements, even if the price is higher. If you are unhappy with your Aquamatic III for any reason, and would like to return it, simply contact us at watches@momentumwatch.com and we would be happy to arrange that for you. Our business is built on customers who love their watches!
Thanks and Happy New Year! ** Team Momentum
